After a successful week at last year’s annual SXSW festival, Jimmy Kimmel Live! will return to the Dell Hall at The Long Center in Austin for another week of shows during SXSW 2015.
ABC announced this week that Jimmy Kimmel Live! will return to Austin, Texas this spring to air five original shows beginning Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20. The show will hit the road for a weeklong trip, timed to the 29th SXSW — a unique convergence of original music, independent films and emerging technologies.
Jimmy will welcome celebrity guests, showcase musical performances and shoot comedy segments around Texas and at SXSW.
“The Long Center is thrilled to be working with Jimmy Kimmel Live! and our good friends at SXSW again in 2015,” said Jamie Grant, Long Center President and CEO, “What better way to showcase the amazing things going on in this wonderful city, than with a week of live national television, broadcast straight from Austin’s Creative Home!”
On returning to Texas, Jimmy Kimmel said, “We had so much fun in Austin last year, we’re doing it again. This time we might never come back.”
Last year’s successful broadcast from Austin featured guests Lady Gaga, Seth Rogen, Snoop Dogg, Rosario Dawson, Gov. Rick Perry, Robert Duvall, Lil Wayne and Willie Nelson along with musical guests Aloe Blacc, White Denim, Damon Albarn and The Preatures. The show’s unforgettable weeklong trip to the Texas state capital was capped off on Friday, March 14, 2014 when Austin Mayor Lee Leffingwell declared the day as the city’s official “Jimmy Kimmel Day.”
