Los Angeles’ The Lonely Wild release the new video for its single “Hunted” today via Around The World in 80 Days.
Created by Brazilian filmmakers Diana Boccara and Leo Longo, Around The World in 80 Days is the first global series of music video. Boccara and Longo have been traveling the world over for one year, inviting bands from every country they visit, to shoot a new video as part of the project. Every Monday, for 80 weeks, they premiere a new music video shot in a single take on their YouTube channel.
About “Hunted,” The Lonely Wild says, “The song is actually about being hunted by time; it will catch each of us at some point. So we decided that playing around with time in the video would fit the song well.”
The Lonely Wild’s eOne Music debut, Chasing White Light, finds the band in new sonic territory, exchanging western motifs for more eclectic and unusual arrangements. Recorded at Tiny Telephone Studios in San Francisco with producer John Vanderslice, the band created an album unlike anything they had done before. Given the resources of the studio, The Lonely Wild was able to seamlessly blend antique instruments like harpsichord and cello with analog synthesizers and electric organs, all recorded to tape. The result is a timeless sound that pushes the boundaries of modern pop music while retaining a sonic richness that existed in the early days of rock ‘n’ roll.
“Indie folk rockers turn in perhaps their strongest song yet from their new album, Chasing White Light” — Consequence of Sound
