Houston, we have a Superbowl!
Another very exciting Football season draws near to an end and now we know the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots will face each other in Superbowl 51 here in H-Town at NRG stadium. But, if you’re like me and can’t afford the average ticket price of close to $5000.00, then there are plenty of great NFL based events going on in Houston that weekend to get your Football fix. One most notable event is The Players Party happening February 2nd thru 5th at Sam Houston Race Park! This 4-day event which benefits Pro Football Legends Charity will be a host to Dozens of current and former NFL greats as well as Live music performances each day. Daily events include NFL Players & Alumni meet and greets, 20+ Music performances, Interactive Sports Games, Full Midway and Carnival Games, Beach Volleyball featuring the US Women’s Olympic Team, Celebrity Lip Sync Contests, a 7×7 NFL Flag Football Tourney, 3×3 BasketBowl, Xbox Madden DigiBowl, Swag Bag for every attendee, and much more!
We were able to speak to the event’s organizer, Houston based Mark Martinez about the event. Mark was an assistant producer for the event since the mid 90’s when Marcus Allen and Ronnie Lott started it up in Southern California. Later the event was sold to the NFL players and used as an avenue to preview Players Inc. This year’s event is the first since 2000 using the same footprint as previous events only now taking advantage of the heavy Social Media outlets. Building upon that model, they have added the carnival, more VIP attendees and a greater line up of Entertainment. When asked, what makes this event different than the others, Mark quickly responded “price”. While other Superbowl events are taking place around town, most have an average price of $400 to attend and that’s if you can even get in. The Players Party will offer daily passes as low as $15 as well as a four-day passes starting at just $59. Discounts available for Kids, Military and Seniors top off making this family friendly event a place to be! On top of all of the above-mentioned activities, there is free parking and each attendee will receive a $500 virtual gift bag.
The event is being held at Sam Houston Race Park located at 7575 North Sam Houston Pkwy West in NW Houston and is a fantastic facility and easy to get to. Come see the USA women’s beach volleyball team take on NFL players. NFL’s Drew Brees, Adrian Peterson, Tim Tebow and Houston’s own Warren Moon are just a few of those to be in attendance for meet and greets with Live entertainment from Montgomery Gentry, Beach Boys, Tracy Byrd, Eddie Money and KC & the Sunshine band just to name a few and not to mention Willie Robertson from Duck Dynasty.
So gather up the family, avoid the downtown madness and traffic and join us at the 2017 Players Party February 2nd thru 5th. Tickets and more info available at http://www.playersparty2017.com
